Embodied Flamenco:
Rediscovering Your Duende

Trauma-informed movement for all bodies, abilities, ages, and gender expressions.

Flamenco has always made room for what the rest of the world won't: grief, anger, pride, resilience. The full emotional spectrum, held inside a tradition born to welcome all bodies and all levels of experience.

This is not a performance class. It is a practice — one that blends classical flamenco, breathwork, and somatic awareness into something that meets you exactly where you are.

Your body already knows how to feel.
Embodied flamenco teaches it how to speak.

your instructor, audrey liberman

Audrey is a Baltimore-based former professional flamenco dancer and teacher with roots in the tradition that go back to her adolescence. She trained in Classical Flamenco, 18th Century Spanish Dance, and Spanish Folklore Dance under her maestra and aunt, Carmen de Vicente — a world-renowned castanet virtuoso. She has performed at Union Station, Jaleo, La Tasca, private events at the Spanish Ambassador's residence, and choreographed the flamenco sequences for a community theatre production of Carmen in Frederick, MD.

Over the last decade, Audrey's relationship to flamenco deepened and changed as her body did — the emergence of chronic pain and autoimmune inflammation became the unexpected origin of this embodied format. A way of moving with the body rather than against it.

Beyond her dance background, Audrey brings a trauma-informed lens shaped by professional work in behavioral coaching, equity, cross-cultural education, and conflict resolution. She holds space for vulnerability and approaches the body as a site of healing, strength, and expression.
